Gopher skull. Used for crafting, decoration in a house cabin or hunting camp, and classroom identification. All of our skulls are boiled to clean them. Then we use a whitener to cut the grease and get them nice and clean. After cleaning we use a small bead of hot glue to keep all the jaw in place. You can heat the glue with a hair dryer to remove it if you choose to.

The gopher skull is a small yet intricate structure, reflecting the unique adaptations of these burrowing rodents. Characterized by sharp incisors that continue growing throughout their lives, gopher skulls are well-equipped for their primary activities of digging and gnawing. The skull's robust jawbones provide the necessary strength to break through tough roots and soil.

Anatomically, the gopher skull features large cheekbones and a short snout, allowing for powerful muscle attachment and enhanced biting force. The nasal cavity is relatively large, supporting their acute sense of smell, critical for navigation underground. The eye sockets are positioned to offer a broad field of vision, though their subterranean lifestyle means they rely more heavily on senses other than sight.

Studying gopher skulls offers insight into their ecological role and evolutionary adaptations. Their ability to modify soil composition and create extensive burrow systems is reflected in the structural design of their skulls, optimized for both survival and environmental impact.
